Untick anything that belongs to a different author with the same name. Tiers with no badge came from an indexed publication type. mesh means the design was read from MEDLINE subject headings and text from wording in the title or abstract — both are usually right but worth a glance. db means a paper tagged "Multicenter Study" named a recognised administrative database (NSQIP, NIS and similar), so it was moved to the registry/database tier rather than kept as a multicentre cohort. assumed means nothing in the record indicated a design, so the low registry/database tier was assumed rather than crediting it as a cohort; those are the rows to correct first. aff marks a paper where the author's listed affiliation matched none of yours. Everything recalculates as you edit.

This page calls the NIH PubMed and iCite APIs directly from your browser, and OpenAlex when you use "Find in OpenAlex" to resolve an author; nothing you type is sent anywhere else. If those calls are blocked, put a proxy prefix in the box below and it will be prepended to every request. A small Cloudflare Worker or any CORS proxy will do.
Everything runs locally. There is no server behind this page and no data is stored.
Mass is the NIH Relative Citation Ratio, which is field- and time-normalised but includes self-citations. Credit is a fixed points table by byline position (sole 5, first 4, senior 3, second 2, middle 1), normalised so credit across a byline sums to one. Evidence tier comes by working down a chain: indexed publication type first, then MEDLINE subject headings (Retrospective Studies and similar), then design wording in the title and abstract, and only then a fallback to the low registry/database tier when nothing indicates a design. A paper tagged Multicenter Study that names a recognised administrative database is moved to that same registry tier. Every row records which step decided it. Affiliations are used to flag rather than to filter, because PubMed did not index affiliations for non-first authors before about 2014, so filtering on one drops older senior-author papers without telling you. Author matching is by surname and initials and will attach the wrong papers to common names, which is why every row is editable.
